Clayton Noone (Root Don Lonie for Cash, CJA, Armpit, Claypipe, Wolfskull, the Futurians, etc., etc.) and Kaaterama Morehu (Smokehouse, the Ho'dogs, Armpit, Ideal Gus, Sundowner) phone it in from Dunedin, NZ. Despite the poor international long-distance sound quality (we've had spotty luck with NZ), the Antipodean vibe comes through loud and clear. Out of the noise come plaintive, strummy campfire-isms and emotive drones. Beautifully super-saturated and crumbly, and depressing as hell. I could crank this and listen to it all day and night, until everything else was covered in the same crackling fuzz. Bear with it- by the time it's done, you won't want it to end either.
