Christopher North Alspach and Regina Peterson (formerly known as the duo Saint Joe Hazelwood) phone it in from the Whitehaus in Boston, MA (sans drummer Dylan Clark, also of Tigersaw). A sublime mix of flute and guitar, the Points North play a kind of transcendent folk in the same tradition as the Kitchen Cynics, the Big Huge, or even Fairport Convention, dipping deep into the well of American and British folk traditions. The sound quality gets a little choppy in the middle of the recording (darn you, cordless phones!), but stick with it and you'll be generously rewarded with a king's ransom, a pot of gold, shining audio treasure.
