Johnny Walker (Soledad Brothers) Download mp3 | Stream mp3
Old soul Johnny Walker phones it in from Covington, KY. It's blues, the way it's supposed to sound. Heck, you might even say that Johnny is one of God's own prototypes. Frontman for the illustrious Soledad Brothers at the time of this recording (shortly before the band's demise), Walker now heads up Cut In The Hill Gang while completing his medical residency. His personal claims-to-fame include teaching Jack White the slide guitar, a specialty in children's psychiatry, and superb stage presence. These skills and presence (minus the psychiatry) somehow manage to transfer over the phone even when I force him from an afternoon nap to perform for no one, in a sweltering hot attic in the middle of the Kentucky summer.
