Jarrod Paul Bramson phones it in from Port Townsend, WA. The Solvents deliver on the promise of pure expression that lo-fi made in its heyday. Aching and plaintive without being cloying, and with a voice reminiscent of Mark Kozelek, Jarrod doesn't just know how to tug your heartstrings, he really gets in there and tinkers around. I just can't stop listening to 'John Lennon', over and over again.
