Former that dog. singer, sometimes Decemberist, and Bill Frisell and Miss Murgatroid collaborator Petra Haden phones it in from Manhattan, NY. She's played violin on albums by just about everyone under the sun, but her solo weapon of choice is her own beautiful, pitch-perfect voice. One of the few indie artists who can legitimately and unironically list 'a capella' as a genre on her MySpace page, and one of the few artists period who can get away with a cappella. Three covers, which she makes completely her own, and a totally charming interview add up to one great show.
